WTH just happened?

The last time I wrote about the Fitness Test group I believe I was in week six and had a huge A-HA moment . You can read about that here.

But SINCE then I had my head down, trusting the program and working towards getting great results doing something I don't like. Functional Training. Lots of push-ups, planks and floor work that usually really bother my neck. I have three discs out of whack and I am doing all I can to avoid surgery.

Exercise can really jack me up. There is safety on a weight bench....not so much in most ab work for me. When I told my friend Melissa (a physique competitor) what I was doing she said "That training will melt the fat right off of you....go for it!" And so I did.

I modified the hell out of it, and some days MY workout barely resembled the workout assigned. It helped that there was a group doing it together that accepted NO excuses. We decided Day One that we would ALL follow the program like a religion and FINISH.

And so we did. I have come a long way, but I still have a way to go. My Results: I lost 12 lbs total I lost 15.75 inches

...and dropped my body fat 8% I am very, very happy with the results.

Honestly though, the one thing that still blows me away, impresses the hell out of me and makes me really proud is that I went over 90 days without a glass of wine....without ANY alcohol. I like to have a drink, and the thought of NOT relaxing at night with 1 (2? 3?) glasses of wine made me nervous. Seriously. But I did it.

One day at a time. Very literally. I woke every morning and said: "JUST FOR TODAY I will hit my workout hard, stick with the meal plan and NOT drink wine. JUST TODAY. I will worry about tomorrow....tomorrow." ....and I repeated that. For 80 days. It worked. Round 2 of the same program started 2 weeks ago ( immediately after I sent my results into corporate).

I chose to increase my calories to maintenance, though, so I can continue to build some muscle and not slow my metabolism. I eat anything I want and like everything I eat....carbs, fats, proteins, sweets....but I use my macro containers from the test group. No weighing....who the hell has time for that??
