Decisions, decisions
I know, I know....YOU don't make resolutions. The fact that the gym was PACKED last night tells me that even those of us who don't make it "Facebook Ofiicial", filter their food on IG or SnapChat their workout with the bunny ear filter still have their health and fitness in mind in January. For some reason getting started is just easier once that ball drops in NYC, and that's great. Getting started is the hardest part, right?
So what happens as we near February? The gym is quiet again, and everyone is thinking about heart boxes of chocolates using that as an excuse to start in March? Turns out "getting started" isn't REALLY the hard part. Making the DECISION is. We can talk about "WHYS"....like your son's wedding in 6 months, your high blood pressure, your AC1 score. We can talk about the dangers of particular types of cancers and how changing your lifestyle can prevent many of them and give you more time to do the things you love with the people you love while feeling and looking incredible. But then.....you have a stressful day, your hours get cut at work, the cat vomits on your bedspread, your kid is in trouble at school, your husband/wife is being an ass, your car needs a repair, you break a nail....and THEN your WHY takes a backseat to Netflix, delivery pizza and a bottle of wine.
It isn't because you are weak. It isn't because you don't have powerful WHY. It is because you haven't TRULY made the decision. Just stew on that...process it. Not with criticism or self-hatred. Just let it sink in, My next blog will be about what "nuts us up" about diet and exercise and how to move forward to making a decision. Because honestly? Once you truly make a DECISION, you are unstoppable.
