A little less Conversation
Happy Monday!! I hope your weekend was good!
I got some major shopping and meal prep done...yeay! Lots if veggies and a few lifesavers to keep me on track.
This is a rough month for me. Christmas goodies don't haunt me, but those damn conversation hearts do!!!
They are cheap and EVERYWHERE!!!!
I can literally pound a whole bag in record time.
Crazy, right?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having your favorite foods and treats UNLESS they work against your health or fitness goals.
Will a handful of conversation hearts make me sick or make me fat? Not ONE handful, but handfuls overtime (or in my case BAGS) will.
Decisions and choices, while often small and unconscious, compound over time. So the effect of one more bag of candy isn't in THAT bag, but in all the bags that came before it.
Make sense?
That's why we wake up one day suddenly 50-100 lbs overweight, or suddenly develop diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure.
It feels sudden, but the truth is we work everyday to make ourselves sick. It doesn't feel like work because it is a habit handed down to us by our families and culture. Our genetic predisposition to illness and obesity is really just habits we have learned from childhood.
The good news is you can change that. You can create new habits that can reverse the effects of the old habits.
The bad news is it really @$!#&; sucks at first.
It gets better. It gets easier. But you have to get started❤ Today is Day 8 of an 80 Day Fitness Test Group I was asked to participate in. My food is on point and satisfying, but the workout was really hard. So hard in fact I had to stop a few times and gather my wits....I wanted to quit. But I didn't. I can't move as fast as the younger women, so I had to go ultra slow for form to protect my neck and shoulders. I finished. It wasn't pretty. But I finished.
